FAQ

How do I log a flight?

Tap the Flights tab, then tap the "+" button. Enter your flight details including date, aircraft, route, and flight times. Tap Save when done. The app supports all standard FAA logbook fields including PIC, SIC, dual received, dual given, instrument time, and more.

How does iCloud sync work?

If you're signed in to iCloud on your device, your flight data automatically syncs across all your Apple devices. The sync uses Apple's CloudKit service — your data is stored in your private iCloud account and is never accessible to us. Make sure iCloud is enabled in your device's Settings.

My data isn't syncing between devices. What should I do?

First, make sure iCloud is enabled on all devices (Settings > Apple Account > iCloud). Check that you're signed in with the same Apple Account on each device. Syncing may take a few minutes, especially on the first sync. If the issue persists, try restarting the app or your device.

How do I restore my Pro purchase?

Go to the Settings tab and look for the "Restore Purchases" option. This will restore your Pro upgrade on any device signed in with the same Apple Account that was used for the original purchase. If you're having trouble, make sure you're signed in to the correct Apple Account.

What is the difference between Free and Pro?

The free version lets you log up to 20 flights and 1 aircraft with basic logbook fields. The Pro upgrade (a one-time $9.99 purchase) unlocks unlimited flights, unlimited aircraft, all FAA logbook fields, currency tracking, statistics and charts, PDF/CSV export, and iCloud sync.

How does currency tracking work?

Simple LogBook automatically calculates your FAA currency status based on the flights you've logged. It tracks day and night passenger currency (14 CFR 61.57), IFR currency, flight review (14 CFR 61.56), and medical certificate expiration. Currency tracking is available with the Pro upgrade.

Does the app work offline?

Yes. Simple LogBook stores all data locally on your device. You can log flights, view your logbook, and check currency status without an internet connection. When you're back online, any changes will sync via iCloud if you have it enabled.

Is my data private?

Absolutely. Simple LogBook has no servers, no analytics, no tracking, and no ads. We never see your data. Everything stays on your device and, if you choose, in your personal iCloud account. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

What iOS version is required?

Simple LogBook requires iOS 18.6 or later.
